Our Mission and Responsibilities
The Bleckley County Board of Elections and Registration oversees voter registration and election processes in Bleckley County, Georgia. The board consists of three members: Rene Yawn, Annette Wyche, and William Faircloth Jr., each serving four-year terms. The Election Supervisor, Cheryl Ates, manages daily election operations and serves at the board’s pleasure. The board ensures fair, transparent, and efficient elections in compliance with state and federal laws.

NOTICE OF COMPUTATION OF RETURNS
Pursuant to OCGA § 21-2-492, notice is hereby given that the Bleckley County Election Superintendent intends to commence and hold computation and canvassing of returns for the Special Primary Election to be held on June 17, 2025 beginning Tuesday, June 17, 2025, after polls close at 7:00 pm. Computation and canvassing will continue until complete and members of the public are entitled to be present during that process. Said computation and canvassing will be conducted at the Jaycee Barn located at 290 Ash Street, Cochran, GA 31014.

EARLY PROCESSING OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS PUBLIC NOTICE
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(2)(A), notice is hereby given that the Bleckley County Election Superintendent intends to begin early processing of absentee ballots cast in the Special Primary to be held on June 17, 2025, beginning Monday, June 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Processing will continue from day to day and hour to hour until complete and members of the public are entitled to be present during processing. Said processing will begin in the Office of the Bleckley County Board of Elections and Registration located at 106 Cherry Street, Cochran, GA 31014 (Courthouse Annex) and be completed at the Jaycee Barn located at 290 Ash Street, Cochran, GA 31014. The early processing of absentee ballots before the closing of the polls shall be a controlled process in order to maintain the secrecy of all ballots and to protect against the collection or disclosure of any balloting information before the close of the polls at 7:00 P.M. on Election Day.

LOGIC AND ACCURACY TESTING PUBLIC NOTICE
Pursuant to OCGA § 21-2-379.25, notice is hereby given that the logic and accuracy testing and preparation of voting equipment to be used in June 17, 2025, Special Primary Election, both Election Day and Advanced Voting, will begin Monday, May 19, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Testing will continue from day to day until complete and members of the public are entitled to be present during testing. Said testing and preparation will begin at the Jaycee Barn located at 290 Ash Street, Cochran, GA 31014, and will continue from day to day and hour to hour as necessary.
